A whole-school approach
Wellbeing/Engagement
Forest Hill College takes a proactive and whole-school approach to student wellbeing and engagement, ensuring every learner feels safe, supported, and connected.
A key part of this approach is the College Sub-School structure, which provides point of need support, early intervention, guidance, and ongoing care for students who may need additional assistance. This is managed within a team of experienced Cohort Leaders and overseen by our Head of School (Leading Teacher). This helps create an environment where students are well known, from the moment they enter Forest Hill College, and support is communicated to teachers and other key staff within the College.

The College also has access to a full-time MHP (Mental Health Practitioner), offering proactive strategies to help students manage social, emotional, and mental health challenges. In addition, the Adolescent Health Nurse provides health advice, support, and referrals, helping students navigate important physical and emotional wellbeing needs in a safe and confidential environment.
To further enhance student wellbeing, Forest Hill College also incorporates Therapy Dogs, which provide comfort, reduce stress, and help create a calm and positive school atmosphere. These programs work together to ensure students feel supported not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.
Through this comprehensive approach, Forest Hill College promotes strong engagement, resilience, and a positive school experience for every student.
