Weekly Wrap
Dear all,
Well done on getting through week one of stage 4 lock-down. Today, I am delivering a message to our Year 12 students.
There is no doubt this is tough. It is tough for everyone. Our thoughts go out especially to our students undertaking Year 12 subjects. The uncertainty and the need for you to be doing remote learning have thrown your year upside down.
Today the Deputy Premier announced that all students will be able to submit applications for special consideration. Our College is currently working through what this means for you and for us. The intent is to ensure no student is disadvantaged. I can guarantee you that FHC will put every available resource into supporting you, our Year 12 students throughout and beyond your exams. It was also announced that the current exam schedule and release of scores will remain in place.
We will release information next week about how we will support each individual make the appropriate application for special consideration. We will be checking in on your wellbeing and how you feel you are progressing academically. We are also working through how we will run the Valedictory Dinner, Presentation Night and your last week of school. While you have missed out on many rituals and rites of passage this year, we will make sure to end this year well. We plan to make the new hoodie available to you all as soon as we can. It feels a bit like a sport contest where we have made a bad start, but we are going to finish strongly.
Together we can do this. Let us draw inspiration from wherever we can to keep us all going, one step at a time. You are very important to us.
If there is anything we can do in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to email me on d.rogers@fhc.vic.edu.au
