Student Leadership
Forest Hill College’s Student Leadership model is designed to empower students to take an active role in shaping school culture and strengthening student voice across the College. Leadership is shared between Senior Leadership and Junior Leadership groups, who work collaboratively to represent students from all year levels and contribute to meaningful school improvement.
At the highest level, the College is led by a College Captain and Vice Captain, who help represent the student body at official events, support whole-school initiatives, and act as key links between students and staff. Alongside them, the House Captains—representing Yellow, Red, Green, and Blue Houses – play an important role in building house spirit, encouraging participation, and leading their peers in school-wide activities.
The broader Leadership group, including both Senior and Junior leaders, works together throughout the year to support major events, promote student engagement, and bring forward ideas that reflect the needs and interests of the student community. A dedicated leadership camp helps build teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, while also strengthening relationships across year levels. Through this model, Forest Hill College ensures that student voice is valued, leadership is shared, and students are actively involved in creating a positive and connected school environment.

Academies
Forest Hill College offers three specialised academies designed to support students in developing their passions, talents, and future pathways. These programs provide enriched learning experiences alongside the core curriculum, allowing students to extend their skills in focused areas of interest.
Academies are run across year levels, offering a dynamic and flexible learning experience, supporting students to achieve excellence in their chosen fields.
STEAM
The STEAM Academy seeks to provide an enriching learning environment where students are immersed in an inquiry-based, authentic STEAM curriculum that challenges their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, whilst encouraging innovation and creativity. We provide each student with interdisciplinary opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. Our mission is to inspire, engage, and empower students to contribute, collaborate, and innovate, enabling them to persevere through challenges and thrive in a global society as we build the future together.
Performing Arts
The Performing Arts Academy aims to develop students’ confidence through a practical introduction to acting, performing, film and performance making.
During the session students, will study Improvisation, Basic stagecraft, Vocal projection and clarity, Character development, Interpretation of text, Direction, Audition technique, Creating Performance Text, Storytelling, Basic elements of performance making: understanding lighting, sound, costume and design elements, Basic principles of acting for the camera, Practical approaches to securing an acting agent.
While there are, some theoretical elements incorporated in the curriculum, the focus is largely on participation and students are required to regularly performwith a view to building performance experience and confidence.
Soccer
The Soccer Academy supports students who are passionate about sport, offering specialised coaching, skill development, and a focus on teamwork and fitness. The program helps students improve their game while also promoting discipline, resilience, and a healthy, active lifestyle.
Futbal First School of Soccer and Futsal is the place for young players to come and work on developing their football skills in order to reach their highest capabilities in a fun yet highly professional environment. All coaches possess extensive playing and coaching experience and that combined with their passion, professionalism and knowledge ensure that we are providing our players with the highest quality of training and opportunities to reach their maximum potential in all aspects of becoming an elite athlete in football.
Building Community and Teamwork
House System
Forest Hill College’s House System is a vibrant part of school life, building a strong sense of community, teamwork, and friendly competition among students. Every student is placed into one of four houses: Yellow (Wallaby), Red (Dingo), Green (Crocodile), and Blue (Kookaburra), each proudly representing iconic Australian animals.
Throughout the year, students earn points for their house by participating in a range of activities including sports, academic challenges, and special school events. These opportunities encourage students to get involved, try new things, and work together with peers across different year levels.
The House System creates a fun and supportive environment where students can develop leadership skills, build friendships, and show school spirit. It plays an important role in making Forest Hill College a connected and inclusive community, where every student feels a sense of belonging.
Attendance at all extra-curricular events generates points for your House, encouraging participation and engagement.
